The 7.00pm Mass is the principal Mass for Holy Thursday and
is the beginning of the Easter Triduum. Strictly speaking
it should be the only Parish Mass today.
We encourage people to come to this Mass.
Priests and people are invited to attend the Chrism Mass in
St. Eugene's Cathedral, Derry at 10.00am when Bishop Hegarty
will bless the oils for sacramental celebrations during the
coming year.

Holy Week and Easter are the most important times in the
Church year. Possibly your Lent never got off the ground or
maybe you failed in your resolutions at an early stage. Why
not make the extra effort during this week to come to daily
Mass or make some special sacrifice. Congratulations to all
those who attended Mass in such great numbers all during Lent.

Due to the Bank Holiday on Good Friday all anniversaries and
notices for next week’s bulletin must be notified by
12 Noon on Tuesday 18 March.
Dates for Baptism
The following are the dates for the Sacrament of Baptism during
the months of March, April and May:
March: Sunday 23; Friday 28.
April: Friday 4; Sunday 13; Sunday 20; Friday 25.
May: Friday 9; Sunday 11; Sunday 18; Friday 30.
Times for Baptism: Sunday 1.15pm; Friday 7.20pm.
Parish Draw 2008
Promoters should make their returns for March to the Parish
Office on Tuesday 18 March from 2.00pm - 4.30pm and from 7.30pm
- 8.30pm. We would be grateful if as many promoters as possible
could make their returns during Tuesday afternoon. The Draw
for March will take place on Thursday 20 March at 10.30am
in the Parish Office.
Trocaire
Trocaire Collection Boxes should be returned to the Church
at any of the ceremonies for Holy Week or on Easter Sunday.
It would be a great help to the counters if small coins could
be changed for notes or pound coins.

Collection Envelopes
We thank those who contributed to the Parish during the year.
Those who made their contributions using the collection envelopes
will receive a new box to begin on Sunday 6 April. Anyone
who has not been using envelopes and who would like to receive
a box should leave their name in the sacristy. Anyone who
pays income tax and who would like to consider being part
of the Gift Aid Scheme by using an envelope should contact
the Parish Office: Tel. 71383777.
Taize Prayer
Join us for an hour of meditative prayer and Taize chant on
Wednesday 19 March at 7.30pm in the Day Chapel. Everyone welcome.
There will be no Tuesday
Club meeting in St. Pat’s Hall until after Easter.
Alzheimer’s Support Group
will meet on Wednesday 19 March in Melmount Manor Care Home,
at 7.30pm. Guest speaker will be Deirdre Doherty.
St Patrick’s Day Parade
The annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade will assemble at
Melmount Church car park at 2.00pm on Monday 17 March and
will proceed to the Score Site in Canal Street.
